Through laser type technology, the Diagnodent is able to measure the depth of cavities and evaluate the pit and fissure surfaces ( chewing surfaces ) to determine whether to treat the cavity with a cosmetic filling or possibly a sealant for deeper pits that have not progressed to the cavity condition.
